Arlington Public Schools Distance Learning Program began by offering one locally produced course in 1993. Today, we support over numerous classes, providing a combination of locally produced classes taught by master Arlington teachers and completely online courses offered by various nationally recognized programs. Virtual@APS (Distance Learning Program) supports initiatives and curricula that offer students, staff and community the opportunity to participate in courses and professional development. Engaging in online learning is now a graduation requirement for high school students. Effective with students entering 9th grade in the 2013-14 school year, students must take at-least one online course in order to earn a high school diploma.
