Teaching Students in Blended Classrooms is an eight-week online course, co-facilitated by an experienced EDC online instructor and an APS instructor that prepares educators to teach in blended classroom environments. Participants learn effective strategies for managing and teaching students in blended environments and explore the ways blended learning can effectively support standards-based teaching and learning in all subject areas. In addition, participants learn to meet the needs of all students by selecting and using a variety of teaching strategies that aid in personalizing learning. Course content includes:
- online readings,
- web-based and multimedia activities,
- and facilitated online discussions.
Expectations of Course Participants
This course is hosted on the APS Blackboard site for teachers and administrators and requires a minimum of 4-6 hours per week to receive credit. It has specific assignments due each week, is graduate level work and graduate credit is available for an additional fee. Successful completion requires an intermediate level of technology skills and a final project is required.
